Seasonal Primitive Home Decor - Halloween

Dressing up rooms for All Hallow's Eve has hit an all time high of interest in 2008.

It seems every home decor magazine on the shelf the past month has had exclusive articles on Halloween decorating.

There is more than one good reason for this renewed interest in the decorating for the October holiday.

First, more people are spending more time at home due to rising gas prices. More time at home, means more interest in how that home looks.

Secondly there are some great products available that get double the decor 'bang for the buck' as they do not stop beautifying your home on the late eve of October 31st. Many Halloween primitives in fact move in and out of your Autumn decor effortlessly.

Country decor has far more options for Halloween primiitives than any other decorating style. After all, Halloween decor is often associated with scarecrows, corn stalks, and pumpkins - all standard fare for those of us who don't live within city limits.

"Autumn meets Halloween" decorators' colors are warm, rich and earthy, mixed of course, with black. Orange (pumpkins) and black (as a witch's cloak) are the official colors of this well loved holiday but after October 31st you'll be able to remove most of the black accents and carry on with the autumn theme straight on to December 1st. We'll explore primitive country christmas accents in the last month of the year - I can't wait to show you what's coming up!
